We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Night Vet at Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group. The shifts are alongside a Registered Veterinary Nurse, and include inpatient care, dealing with emergencies and evening consultations. Working in Emergency Out of Hours is a fantastic opportunity for vets and nurses who want to make a real difference to both owners and their pets at a critical moment in their lives and can be incredibly rewarding.

The caseload is varied and exciting, offering the opportunity to grow in skills and confidence whilst working as part of a friendly and supportive team.

We are a busy, progressive first opinion practice with our own dedicated out of hours night team, looking for a skilled and self-motivated Veterinary Surgeon with some experience dealing with emergencies and critical care cases. Within the team, we encourage each other to pursue career aspirations and are looking for a vet who strives to complete their job to the best of their ability. We would love a vet who will take pride in being a motivated team player, is passionate about ECC and who wants to support their colleagues whilst giving gold standard care to pets and their owners.

We fully support CPD and career progression, whichever path that may be, and strive to ensure all staff have fantastic job satisfaction. Certificates are encouraged and funded. We are a sociable and welcoming team that work hard and play harder. About you:

We're looking for an experienced Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our AlNorthumbria Morpeth Vet team. Working within a culture where clinicians are empowered to make the best decisions, where improvement is encouraged and where best practice is shared, you will be:

  • As an experienced vet you'll be comfortable handling a varied caseload, offering guidance to the wider team and contributing to shaping clinical standards.

 

Rota: 7 weeks on 14 off. This can be split into two runs of 3 or 4 nights- 7 nights within a 3 week block.

We are based in Morpeth Northumberland, which is commutable from Blyth, Newcastle, Ashlington, Bedlington, Pegswood, Amble, Warkworth, Alnmouth, Alnwick, Cramlington, North Shields, South Shields, Ponteland, Sunderland, Washington, Blaydon, Ryton, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Hexham and other locations in the Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and County Durham areas. Due to the shift pattern, you could consider traveling further afield from Carlisle, Penrith, Berwick upon Tweed, Middlesborough, Durham, Darlington, Consett, Seaham and Hartlepool.
